In-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids
This type of hearing aid is discreet and worn inside the ear.
Hence, each device is customised to suit the shape and size of each wearer’s ears.
Types of ITE hearing aids
IIC hearing aids, otherwise known as invisible hearing aids, are the most discreet listening devices available at Hearing Partners.
They are worn far inside the ear canal so they cannot be seen by others. A slim 'pin' made of plastic is then attached to the device so you can remove the hearing aid more easily.
Are IIC hearing aids suitable for me?
Depending on the size of your ear canal, you may or may not be suitable for IIC hearing aids. Additionally, they are best recommended for individuals with mild to moderate or severe hearing loss.

CIC hearing aids are slightly more noticeable than their IIC counterparts as the face plate and battery drawer are visible.
To ensure maximum discretion, you may wish to match the colour of your listening device to that of your skin tone or hair colour.

As compared to their IIC and CIC counterparts, ITC hearing aids are bigger and more noticeable. They tend to be visible at the lower part of the ear.
Due to their size, they are able to store large batteries and even have buttons to control the volume and programme of the hearing device.

Half-shell hearing aids house the components of the device in a half-shell cover. Instead of being worn in the ear canal, they are worn in the ear/concha.
These hearing aids are bigger than other ITE hearing aids. Thus, they have bigger controls and are able to store batteries with a longer lifespan.
Are half-shell hearing aids suitable for me?
This type of hearing aid is typically more suited for individuals with profound hearing loss. However, they can also be worn by individuals with mild to severe hearing loss.
As this type of hearing aid is larger in size, individuals with dexterity challenges may prefer this device. Additionally, as they fit more securely in the ear, individuals who lead an active lifestyle may opt for this hearing aid instead.
Full-shell hearing aids are worn in the concha and have a full-shell covering that houses the components of the hearing device.
Due to their size, these hearing aids are able to store batteries that last longer and feature larger on-instrument controls.
Are full-shell hearing aids suitable for me?
Full-shell hearing aids are suited for individuals with mild to severe and even profound hearing loss. They are also a preferred option among active individuals as well as those with dexterity issues.

Match your Hearing needs with your lifestyle
The degree of your hearing loss, which is described as mild, moderate, severe and profound, will have a bearing on which product will be the right one for you. However, features of all these products can be changed to suit your everyday lifestyle. So, whether you work in a busy office or live quietly at home, the sounds generated by your device can be adjusted so they're not too overwhelming.
Start with a FREE hearing check
A hearing check evaluates your ability to hear by measuring the ability of sound to reach the brain. These abilities can change, which means people that experience even a mild degree of hearing loss should be tested regularly to track any changes and adjust solutions accordingly.
